A problem on the A3 made it a struggle to arrive on time and sadly one player didn’t make it through the jam. The clubhouse has been enhanced with a partial refurbishment and an impressive spacious balcony overlooking the 1st and 18th Holes has been added. This was a highly competitive fixture – as tight as it can get. Happily, the final flight ‘delivered’ a very satisfactory result (for the Gunners). The weather remained fine. The heathland ‘Harry Colt’ course was presented in its customary superb condition, just a couple of weeks after the conclusion of the Selborne Salver. Lunch, including a beef and lamb carvery with all the trimmings, was again outstanding. Overall, it was an excellent day, enjoyed in great company. This 54 year old fixture is well worth retaining. Thus far, the tally is: RAGS Won 35, ARGS Won 13, Drawn 5 and one washout. Thank you to all those who made themselves available and played so well to win a very close match.
