Result: RA 6 – 6 R Sigs

The RA fielded another strong team for this fixture with all but 3 of the current Corps team involved. After a successful morning the Fourball matches went in favour of the RA team. Stiff and Hunt won 2 up, Parks and McGovern lost 1 down, Thornton and Hayward won 6 and 5 and Carter and Mitchinson won 2 up giving the RA a healthy 3 – 1 lead at lunch.

The afternoon Singles proved a slightly different story with the Signals team responding positively to their half time team talk eventually running out 5 – 3 winners, resulting in a halved match at 6 – 6. Hunt, McGovern and Hayward were the afternoon points winners for the RA team but most matches were extremely close less for Dean Mitchinson who blamed his 5-4 loss on the 72 hole charity event he played the day before (it was all in a very good cause so can be forgiven)!

Salisbury and South Wilts presented the course in very good condition and clubhouse hospitality was also excellent. A good result for the RA serving team against the Inter Corps champions and still unbeaten this season.
